To ensure reliable communication, the touch computer features Wi-Fi 802.11ac/r and optionally a walkie-talkie function via »Workforce Connect Push-to-Talk Express« or »Workforce Connect Voice3«. Thanks to the latter, the TC21 Healthcare android Mobile Touch Computer may also be used like a fully equipped PBX handset. Also, Zebra has equipped it with a programmable button. The TC21 Healthcare android Mobile Touch Computer features a 5" HD capacitive touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass, a removable 3,300 mAh lithium-ion battery with up to 10 hours of operation, a 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor, as well as 3 GB RAM and 32 GB flash. The interfaces include WLAN, WPAN, high-speed USB 2.0, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). An integrated 5-megapixel front camera is well suited for video calls and the 13-megapixel colour camera on the back for occasional barcode capture. For scan-intensive tasks, the TC21-HC is optionally available with the SE4100 enterprise scan module.

Thanks to its compact size and low weight, the TC21 Healthcare android Mobile Touch Computer may be easily stowed in a smock pocket and carried all day long. The wrist strap ensures a secure hold, so that it may be operated comfortably with one hand. Plus, the touch computer survives multiple falls onto concrete and is fully protected against dust in accordance with IP67. It even withstands complete immersion underwater for a short period of time.
